1 large Egg, free range
1 pkt Inglewood chicken, you can use also only chicken thigh and drumsticks
1 tsp Flour ground
1 tsp Chili powder dried
2 tsp Pepper, white or black, can use the cracked as well
2 tbsp Salt
1 tsp Paprika, sweet or smoked
1 tbsp Onion salt
2 tbsp Garlic powder
1 ltr Buttermilk
1 ltr Rice bran oil
Combine the egg and buttermilk in a large bowl.
Soak the chicken pieces in the mixture.
Add the flour to a separate bowl and whisk in all the herbs and spices.
Roll the chicken in the seasoned flour until completely covered. You can double coat it for a more crispy texture.
Add the frying oil to a deep fryer or a large pot.
Place the chicken pieces in the fryer or pot, 2 pieces at a time, to not overcrowd the oil as the temperature will drop and your chicken become soggy.
Allow to fry for 8 to 10 minutes, until the chicken is golden brown and thoroughly cooked.
Make sure the oil is at 185°C before frying the chicken.
